Sterile gloves are a major necessity in every healthcare unit for the practitioners and doctors involved in medical examinations. These gloves act as a barrier protecting the practitioners and the patients from infection and cross-contamination during the medical examination process. They are also effective in preventing the spread of germs. However, many medical practitioners are unaware of the right method of wearing sterile gloves before starting an examination.
Without proper handling, the gloves’ sterility is compromised, leading to unhealthy conditions. HANDCARE® Sterile Gloves, India’s #1 selling EVA gloves, are available in different sizes to fit perfectly with practitioners’ hands.
Here are a few tips and effective instructions on how to use these gloves without compromising the sterility.
Instructions for using sterile gloves
Choose the right-sized glove
HANDCARE® Sterile Gloves are available in small, medium, large, and even extra-small sizes. Choose and order the appropriate size that fits perfectly into the practitioner’s hands. Gloves should feel comfortable in the hands so that the practitioner can conduct a smooth medical examination.
Remove objects from the hand
Remove objects from your hands before wearing the gloves. If you ring or watch, it is advisable to remove them before wearing the gloves. The gloves are ambidextrous and can be worn on either hand.
Wash and clean hands
Wash your hands with liquid soap from the dispenser. Once you have disinfected your hands with soap and water, it is better not to touch anything and to wear gloves directly.
Open the package on a clean surface
Place the gloves on a clean surface or a sterile table. The gloves will have an inner wrapping around them. Carefully open the inner wrapper, being careful not to contaminate the gloves.
Wear gloves
Wear the gloves in either hand. Start with the dominant hand and make sure that you keep the hand flat and the thumb tucked in. This will help you wear the gloves easily. Pull and adjust the gloves properly around the hands. They must fit properly so that they do not get loose during the examination. Avoid excess force when donning the gloves. HANDCARE® Sterile Gloves give the wearer a skin feel and satin smooth touch. These gloves are also available with self-adhesive wristbands.
Avoid touching
Once you’ve worn the gloves, avoid touching anything except the sterilised medical equipment you’re planning to use for the examination. When the examination is over, make sure you dispose of the gloves properly in the bin.
